
Yingzhou Hu is widely known as a passionate solo pianist, a chamber musician and also
accompanist. He has performed in Palazzo Mezzacapo in Maiori in Italy, Jo Ann Davidson
Theatre in Columbus, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, Shanghai Concert Hall,
Liaoning Grand Theatre.
Being recognized by his excellency and talent in piano performing, Yingzhou was
accepted to the Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music and earned the
honor to study with Professor Xiaosheng Zhao, a well-known composer and pianist. He got
admitted to Manhattan School of Music with scholarship and studied with Professor Jeffery
Cohen. One year later, Yingzhou transferred to Capital University studying with professor
Tianshu Wang with Global Ambassador Award associating with full scholarship. He received his
Bachelor of Music degree from Capital University in 2013. In the same year, he was accepted to
Manhattan School of Music again studied with Professor Jeffrey Cohen and Professor Alexandre
Moutouzkine. Yingzhou earned his Master of Music degree in 2015. He is currently a Doctor of
Music Arts candidate in piano performance from the studio of Professor Caroline Hong at the
Ohio State University.
Yingzhou has won many piano competitions and awards worldwide. Yingzhou won the
international music competitions which resulted in his Carnegie Weill Recital Hall (NY) as the
first prize winner of the 2020 Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition. In
2017, he was the winner in the American Protégé International Piano Competition. In the next
year, He was invited to perform as a solo pianist in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
He also earned the Arts and Humanities Graduate Research Award at The Ohio State University
the same year. Additionally, he is the winner of the 2011 Karen Jean Foster Keyboard
Competition at Capital University. He has been invited to perform as a solo pianist in Weill
Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2017. Since 2016, Yingzhou toured and performed with Wind
Symphony of Ohio State University around the United States. Moreover, He performed a pianist
in the Choir of the Hilliard Memorial Middle School across the state. He accepted the offer as
the Collaborative Piano Faculty at Ohio Dominican University since 2018. Yingzhou was assigned
by the Ohio-Hubei Friendship Association as the Stage Director of series performance “The
Imperial Bells of China” celebrating the 40th year of friendship between Ohio and Hubei
Province in 2019. He is a member of the American Liszt Society and served as an assistant of
Artistic Director Dr.Hong in Liszt International Piano Festival and Competition. Because of his
extraordinary national reputation, he was invited to join the judge committee of the Ohio
Federation of Music Clubs. Since 2016, he was invited join the judge committee of Ohio
Federation of Music Clubs. Yingzhou contributes his passion to the community as well. He
served as the Organist at the Riverside United Methodist Church in 2017, and as the
Keyboardist at St. Paul Lutheran Church since 2018.
